We’re thrilled to announce that this year’s Original Terlingua International Championship Chili Cookoff (OTICCC) raised $80,000 for the fight against ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease! This donation is a significant step toward advancing research and support for those affected by ALS, underscoring our commitment to making a difference through our beloved tradition.
Our 57th Annual Chili Cookoff, held in the heart of Terlingua, Texas, was a “Party with a Purpose,” bringing together chili enthusiasts, supporters, and locals for an unforgettable celebration. We owe our deepest gratitude to everyone who made it possible: our sponsors, dedicated volunteers, volunteer groups, contestants who brought the heat, enthusiastic spectators, talented musicians, creative vendors, artists, authors, and, of course, the welcoming community of Terlingua.
As we look forward, OTICCC will continue supporting the Terlingua community with additional donations in the coming days, helping sustain and give back to the area that makes this event so special.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to this year’s success. We can’t wait to welcome you all back next year to keep the chili tradition alive, spice things up, and make an even bigger impact together. Mark your calendars, and we’ll see you soon in Terlingua.
